Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) on Thursday given verdict in over Rs 47 billion discretionary development funds and ordered for an action against former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and all those involved in the scheme.
A three-judge SC bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, ordered criminal investigation be conducted against the former PM who initiated the scheme during the final days of his tenure and against all those who were involved in it.
The court said the Raja Pervez Ashraf misused his powers as PM while allocating development funds to the people of his liking.
The court also ordered that any person who made feasibility reports for the fund or violated the PEPRA rules in the distribution of the fund will also be investigated.
It is to be mentioned here that Raja Pervez Ashraf also facing two more cases multi-billion rental power project (RPP) scam.
