ISLAMABAD: The highest electoral board of the country, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), has sent letter to the Chief Secretary of Balochistan province on Wednesday regarding important orders for upcoming local bodies’ election.
ECP ordered the chief secretary of Balochistan for announcement of public holiday on December 7, the assigned date for the local bodies’ polls in the province.
The text of the letter declared the polling time between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (Pakistani time) during which at least 3.4 million registered electors could cast their votes.
Security measures during the event also detailed in the letter as 50,000 security officials would be deployed across the polling stations and sensitive area while the Pakistan Army personnels will perform their duties as quick response force.
