ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has suspended governmental notification removing Tariq Malik from the post of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) chairmanship.
IHC also annulled appointment notification of acting chairman Brigadier (retd) Zahid Hussain and ordered restoration of ousted Tariq Malik on the post.
The court said that the action was illegal and against the regulations as Malik removed without provision of any evidences or his resignation.
Earlier, the federal government issued notification of removal of Tariq Malik from the chairmanship of the NADRA and appointed Zahid Hussain on the post.
However, Tariq Malik has taken back the charge of his post from today following the court’s order.
Sources said that the federal government removed Malik from the prominent post due to the NADRA’s reports showing vote rigging evidences on NA-256 and NA-258 constituencies.
