ISLAMABAD: Private Power and Infrastructure Board (PPIB) has initiated working on designated action plan for completion of half dozen of power projects to add 1100 mega watts electricity in the National Grid.
Establishment of six projects with capability of electricity generation up to 1100 MW from hydro-power and coal resources is under development process.
Sponsors are being pursued by the power board for investments in the projects which would assist the energy sector for completion within assigned time period, Radio Pakistan reported.
The projects would be beneficial in future by adding significant amount of electricity in the National Grid by the end of 2018.
The board claimed that 404MW Uch-II power project will be operational in the current month (December) while 163MW Granage Holding by October next year.
Star power project will be completed by July 2016; having potential to generate 134MW electricity.
The futuristic projects will help the consumers for buying electricity on cheaper rates as the board is now focusing on usage of hydropower and coal resources largely present in the country.
