Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi police on Friday have denied open protests in the city and have sealed city’s entry points by placing containers in the way.
The Regional Police Officer (RPO) Umer Hayat Lalika has said that there was a ban in Rawalpindi to bring out any procession.
He further said that those who wanted to protest against the incident so they were allowed only within boundary wall.
The law-enforcement agencies adopted strict security measures to prevent any untoward situation, but fear and uncertainty prevailed in the twin cities.
The police also placed containers and barricades to block roads leading to Islamabad in view of a possible protest by religious groups.
