PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK)’s provincial government decided high-level gatherings and sit ins before top governmental departments, offices of an international organisation as well as US consulate against drone strikes in Pakistan.
The announcements were made after high-level meeting with cabinet meeting under supervision of Chief Minister KPK Pervez Khattak on Friday.
KPK’s information minister Shah Farman conducted the press conference in Peshawar after the completion of the meeting.
He said, ‘The drone striked in Hangu when Sirtaj Aziz guaranteed the closure of such attacks.’
Farman announced that KPK cabinet has agreed for organising sit ins before the office of United Nations (UN) as well as US consulate in order to record their protest against US drone attacks in boundaries of Pakistan.
CM KPK Pervez Khattak approved 3-member committee for finalising action plans for observing black day and protests’ spots, he added.
The cabinet members also firmed for sit in before the National Assembly while a condemnation letter would be sent to the federal government.
However, the information minister clarified that no governmental official will attend the public gatherings and sit ins for stopping NATO supplies across the province.
Farman told the media that First Investigation Report (FIR) has been lodged against the spy plane attack while the cabinet’s demonstration before the parliament will be held in next week.
It should be mentioned that the ruling political party of KPK and its coalition partners already scheduled large-scale protests and sit ins in Peshawar on November 23 (tomorrow) for blocking NATO supply routes.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran would reach at Peshawar to address the public gathering in Peshawar’s Ring Road organised for choking the supply line.
Earlier on yesterday, The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan had severely criticised recent US drone attack in Hangu within the premises of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province of Pakistan.
Imran Khan condemned the spy plane attack in Hangu on a Islamic school, Madarrasa, which was carried out on today’s early morning and killed at least 8 persons.
Khan said, ‘It was the first-ever attack inside the territory of Pakistan; within the boundaries of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province and on a settled city, Hangu’
‘Now we have the right to stop NATO supplies to foreign troops going through KPK.’, he added.
He claimed that the attack finished lives of 4 innocent children, 2 teachers while the KPK governmental will announce exact identification of the deceased persons.
While addressing the press conference in Islamabad, Imran Khan said, ‘I wish that the Chief Minister of KPK have authority to order for firing down the drones but the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is under control of federal government so now it is their responsiblity.’
He urged that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should clarify his stance over the drone attacks in the country.
PTI chief demanded the Pakistani nation to decide their future whether they want to change themselves into a independent nation or still wish to be called as a beggars.
He invited publically for the upcoming protests and sit ins being organised in Peshawar on November 23 to raise their voice against drone attacks and NATO supplies.
Imran Khan demanded the locals for making the upcoming event successful via big participation in order to block NATO supplies.
