ISLAMABAD: Amid criticism over the blockage of YouTube, world’s largest video sharing website, Pakistan in its latest move has blocked the Internet Movie Database (IMDb), a widely used online entertainment news portal, in the country.
A well-informed source in the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said that the authority had blocked the website over the orders of the government committee. He was speaking to The News Tribe correspondent on condition of anonymity.
IMDb , the website owned by Amazon.com, is a prominent source of reliable news and box office reports regarding films, television programmes and video games from all over the world.
However, the PTA has not officially confirmed the ban.
