Islamabad: Pakistan on Thursday condemned the US drone strike in in Hangu in the strongest of words.
At least eight people were killed including Ulema and students in the attack on a Madrassa situation in Hangu.
“These unilateral strikes are a violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity”, a Foreign Office spokesman said in a statement issued here.
The spokesman added that Pakistan had consistently maintained that drone strikes were counter-productive, entail loss of innocent civilian lives and had human rights and humanitarian implications.
“Islamabad has repeatedly emphasized the importance of bringing an immediate end to drone strikes as such attacks set dangerous precedents in the inter-state relations”, he said further.
“These strikes have a negative impact on the mutual desire of both countries to forge a cordial and cooperative relationship and to ensure peace and stability in the region.”
