Washington: US carriers Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile are offering the Motorola Moto Maker services to the customers.
The service allows the users to customize and design their Moto X. through this service customers can design or add colours to the rare and front covers of Moto X.
Leading up to its launch, the Moto X was one of the most talked-about smartphones across the web. It was the first smartphone that Google and Motorola would release since Google acquired the company. It was referred to as the X Phone and one of the most intriguing claims was that customers would be able to design their own smartphone. It was unclear how the company was actually going to make this possible, but the idea of being able to customize your next handset was one of the device’s killer features even before its release.
When Motorola launched the Moto X with all four U.S. carriers, Motorola gave AT&T the exclusivity on the Moto Maker customization service.
Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile customers wouldn’t be able to pick out the smartphone’s front and back colors, its accent colors, and the other customizations. The carriers only offered the standard woven white and woven black models, but Motorola said that the Moto Maker service would be available in the future for more carriers.
The company has now made good on its promise and it announced that Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile customers buying a Moto X can now use the Moto Maker service to design their own smartphone.
The Moto X features a 4.7-inch 720p AMOLED HD display and is powered by a custom dual-core 1.7Ghz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with Motorola’s X8 Computing System and an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit (GPU). The smartphone ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and is expected to receive an update to Android 4.3 in the near future. The handset includes 16GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM.
It is packing a 10-megapixel rear camera with the ability to record 1080p video and also has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. When it comes to connectivity, the Moto X includes a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. Motorola has included a 2,200 mAh battery that can get up to 13 hours of talk time.
