ISLAMABAD: Prominent leader of the ruling political party and Member of National Assembly, Marvi Memon, on Friday has been appointed as chairperson of the standing committee of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage.
Marvi Memon was elected as the member of the Pakistan’s NA on reserved seats for women after joining the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and now been awarded by a prominent position in the lower house.
It should be mentioned that Marvi Memon is enlisted amongst the leaders of the country who got fame via social and digital media.
However, Marvi Memon will chair the standing committee comprising of 18 members including 10 members from Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), 3 from Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), 2 of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) while 2 from Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) respectively.
Pakistan’s federal government announced appointments of vacant seats of chairpersons for three standing committees in the National Assembly including Planning and Development, States and Frontier Regions and Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage.
Pakistan federal government has handed over chairmanship of Planning and Development committee to PML-N’s MNA Abdul Majeed Khan while Maulana Muhammad Jamal-ud-Din was appointed as chairman of States and Frontier Regions and Information.
Moreover, Pakistan federal government still have to appoint chairpersons on 17 vacant standing committees as only 11 positions were filled out of 28, according to NA’s statistics.
