KARACHI: The dengue fever death toll in Karachi reached 24 as another patients died in the city on Tuesday.
In Sindh province so far 24 dengue patients had died, 22 in the city and two in Hyderabad.
Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick, Provincial Focal Person (Dengue Surveillance Sindh), said a 34 years old man resident of Gulshan-e-Iqbal died on November 4. He was admitted in hospital on November 2.
He said 34 new dengue cases were reported late by health facilities: 2 on Nov 1, 2 on Nov 3, and 27 on November 7.
Moreover he said during last 24 hours 21 new cases were also reported including 11 admitted patients and 10 OPD patients.
He said so 3414 dengue cases have been reported this year in Karachi, 505 in Hyderabad and 36 in rest of Sindh.
The citizens have criticized the performance of provincial health, local government and other related departments for their failure to check the dengue virus.
