KABUL: Afganistan’s President Hamid Karzai terms the timing of hunting down the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief, Hakeemullah Mehsud as incorrect. He hoped that talks between TTP and Pakistan are not derailed by the incident.
During the visit of delegation of US Congress, Karzai in his office statement said “the attack took place at an unsuitable time but he hoped as a result the peace process is not harmed”.
He said that the chief of TTP was killed in a drone strike at a time when peace talks between them and Pakistan was about to begin.
On the other hand Pakistan’s Foreign office also condemned the attacks and said that the attacks have created negative impact towards Pakistan and US cooperative and cordial relations. The efforts of ensuring peace and stability within the region have been derailed due to one unexpected encounter.
