ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s federal government has incurred 5 to 40 million US dollars each for drilling 110 oil and gas reservoirs, governmental spokesman said.
Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources spokesman said that five to forty million dollars are incurred on the drilling of each well depending upon area of operations and depth of the well, Radio Pakistan reported.
According to reports, he said that exploration activities are already continuing in offshore area of the country.
The spokesman revealed that 3 oil and gas reservoirs have been discovered at Sibbi and Dera Bugti districts during last five years.
The federal government planned to drill 110 gas wells during the current fiscal year as part of efforts to increase its indigenous production for overcoming severe energy shortage in Pakistan and providing incentives to the investors under Petroleum Policy, he said.
