MIRANSHAH: At least 5 persons were killed in fresh missile strike by US drone on Friday in Miranshah town in of the North Waziristan Agency (NWA) of Pakistan.
Fresh missile attack has been carried out by the US drone in Dande Darpa Khel area of Miranshah town located in the NWA agency of Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan.
According to reports, the attack resulted killing of five persons and two others were injured while the drone flights continued in the area after the strike.
The identity of the dead persons was not ascertained while some reports claiming the attack occcurred on presence of prominent Taliban leader in the house.
However, the sudden attack increases panic amongst the residents of the town.
Military sources confirmed the drone strike in the area and claimed the killing of four persons in the attack.
Local media reports said that the house was belonging to the chief of banned outfit in Pakistan, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Hakimullah Mehsud.
The reports showed the expectations that Hakimullah Mehsud was amongst the deceased five persons in the US drone attack.
It should be mentioned that the attacks carried out during the period when Pakistani government claiming significant steps to hold peace dialogues with Taliban.
Whereas, the militants’ organisation placed condition for initiation of talks with the federal government on basis of stoppage of drone strikes.
