The first day of Eid al Adha 2013 is expected be on Tuesday, October 15, in most Islamic countries including Saudi Arabia, UAE, India and Pakistan, according to a statement on Sunday from the Islamic Crescents’ Observation Project (Icop).
The statement says, “The sighting of the crescent should be possible in most regions of the world with naked eyes on Sunday October 6, 2013, therefore, it is predictable that day will be the 1st of Dhu Al Hijjah 1434 AH, and therefore the 10th Zil Hij 1434 AH, or Tuesday 15th October 2013, is expected to be the first day of Eid al Adha 2013”.
Moreover, according to the Universal Hejric Calendar (UHC), which is based on the calculated crescent visibility, the start of this month in the Eastern Region will be on Sunday 06 October 2013 and in the Western Region will also be on Sunday 06 October 2013. Hence the first day of Eid in both regions will be on Tuesday 15 October 2013.
Kindly note that the UHC is a pre-calculated calendar, which adopts a certain criterion to start the new Hejric month. Your country/organization might adopt different criterion to start the new Hejric month. So it is highly advised to read the UHC website before giving any judgment.
