RIYADH: Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Middle Eastern countries are likely to celebrate first day of Eid al Adha on Tuesday Oct 15.
This means that moon sighting is likely to be occurred on Oct 5, Saturday, in the kingdom and other countries.
Islamic Crescents Observation Project (ICOP) also frames its observation that the first day of Eid is likely on Oct 15 in most of the Islamic countries.
Eid al Adha is celebrated to remember sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim or Abraham for God’s love. During the event, Muslims offer sacrifice of animals across the globe.
“The sighting of the crescent should be possible in most regions of the world with the naked eye on Sunday October 6 2013, therefore it is predictable that day will be the first of Dhu Al Hijjah 1434 AH, and therefore the 10th Dhul Al Hijjah 1434 AH, or Tuesday October 15 2013, is expected to be the first day of Eid Al Adha,” ICOP said in its statement.
