LAHORE: As many as 400 ad-hoc doctors have been awaiting to get their three months salaries from the provincial government of Punjab.
These doctors were hired during the extensive strike from young doctors across the province over provision of ‘required’ facilities. The strike virtual paralyzed the healthcare infrastructure of the eastern province.
The continuous strike compelled the Punjab government to immediately hire ad-hoc doctors to cater health needs of the masses.
These doctors have not been paid salaries for last three months, sources told The News Tribe’s special correspondent.
“We have to feed our kids, we have to pay utility bills, we have to pay tuition fees,” the doctors say.
“Government should not test our nervous by deferring the salaries,” they further added.
