ISLAMABAD: Veiled women have been stopped for sitting in teachers’ entry test for the posts by military administration of the Federal Government College for Women in Islamabad, the federal capital of the Pakistan.
The college administration ordered the women for removal of their veils, also called Hijab or Abaya, while on refusal they all were disallowed to sit in the exams, local newspaper The News reported.
A female candidate told reporters that the college administration ordered them in concrete manner for removing veils in order to enter in the exams otherwise go back.
Hijab is a veil that covers the head and chest, which is particularly worn by a Muslim female beyond the age of puberty in the presence of adult males that conforms to a certain standard of modesty.
However, the administration’s move against the Muslim women raised eyebrows of several religious sects of the country which is called the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and its constitution is based on the principles of Islam.
