LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) likely to remove the head coach of national cricket team, Dav Whatmore, from his post and thinking to give important position in National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Acting Chairman PCB Najam Sethi favoured the removal of the head coach but cannot implement the decision due to some legal complications and limited powers, local media reported.
Whatmore’s contract will expire in 5 months time while it is prior to send dismissal notice in two months for his removal before time can also leads to compensation, reports said.
On the other hand, PCB is spending a large amount in term of the head coach’s security in Lahore as 3 guards specially appointed for his security on rotatory basis in day and night along with 2 police officials.
In order to tackle the situation, PCB authorities looking forward to appoint him on prominent post in the National Cricket Academy but unfortunately Whatmore have no interest for performing duties in the NCA department.
