LAHORE: Punjab government is planning to turn school bags into Tablet computers in the province.
The project will be launched for the students of class 6 to 10.
Rana Mashood Ahmed, the provincial education minister, said that the Punjab government formulating the project for large-scale distribution of computer tablets so the school students will get rid of heavy bags.
According to the minister, all books included in the courses will be installed into the Tablets while each digital book would cost approximately Rs5000.
While talking with media, Rana Mashood Ahmed said that a British-based firm and computer software company has been shortlisted for the purpose and an agreement will be signed with them in the presence of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
