Washington: As American giant Apple launched its highly anticipated device Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, new reports suggest that the iPhone 5S has sold at a margin of three to one when compared to the iPhone 5C in the launch weekend.
We have reported earlier Apple sold over nine million units in the release weekend of the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. However, the iPhone 5S seems to be more popular than the low cost iPhone 5C.
Another report now reveals that out of the nine million units sold, the iPhone 5S accounted for around 6.75 million units, while the iPhone 5C saw around 2.75 million units sold.
Previous iterations of the iPhone have sold like hot cakes in the release weekend and it seems that the latest top-end iPhone 5S and the middle-tier iPhone 5C are no different. However, it looks like even with a cheaper price tag, the iPhone 5C has not attracted as many customers when compared to the iPhone 5S, which bears a premium price.
The latest iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C are available via all major carriers in the U.S., with AT&T seeing the highest adoption rates for both the handsets in the launch weekend. The iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C together represent 0.67 percent of all activated iPhones in the country. Verizon has a market adoption of 0.51 percent followed by Sprint and T-Mobile, which have an adoption rate of 0.12 percent and 0.07 percent, respectively.
