QUETTA: On Tuesday, Pakistan was rocked with an earthquake of 7.8 magnitude resulting 216 deaths in Awran, 22 in Ketch district whereas 8 died in Turbat.
According to spokesperson of Balochistan district all six districts of Balochistan including Gawadar, Turbat, Awaran, Panjgor, Chagi and Khuzdar were badly affected. He said that the quake gave its worst impact in Awaran district, while 55 people were killed in Mashkay district.
The government of Balochistan announced emergency and Frontier Corps and the Army started to provide aid to the victims. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority and District Administration have also started to provide relief to the affected people.
According to the officials rise on death toll may be feared as the tremors demolished hundreds of mud houses. Earlier, earth quake of 7.8 magnitude on Richter Scale created panic among people of Sindh and Balochistan provinces of Pakistan.
