KARACHI: As soon as Lyari’s leader of Aman Committee gets assassinated, different parts of the metropolitan city Karachi gets under the siege by the terrorists.
A prominent leader of banned outfit Lyari Aman Committee, Zafar Baloch was killed near Bizenjo Chowk when two unknown hitmen on motorcycle came and opened fire on him while he was with his associate. He was immediately rushed to Aga Khan Hospital but succumbed to the wounds of the bullet riddled body.
As soon as the news of Baloch’s death spread like fire, firing incidents took place in various parts of the city. Liyari, Pak Colony, Mubeeena Town, Lemo Gota, Malir, Gulbahar, Liaquatabad and others were threatened by open fire of the terrorists. More than 12 people were reported to be injured as a result of the open fire by the unknown gunmen.
The citizens were living in fear as continuous firing was reported, whereas police was given the responsibility for security of two hospitals Civil Hospital and Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center.
Zafar Baloch was twice selected as General Councilor during the tenure of Ex. Army Chief and President of Pakistan General Retired Parvez Musharraf. He was also appointed President of South by PPP’s core Committee.
