LAHORE: Police claimed on Sunday to have arrested the six members of a gang involved in the sale of a human kidney in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, local media reported.
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) city Mufakhar Adeel the leader of the gang and main accused, doctor Mumtaz Fawad has escaped.
The SP said gang formed a Medical store near Malik Park in Lahore.
He said that the gang attracted poor people over free medical facilities and then they transferred them to Rawalpindi for treatment, where during operation or treatment gang’s leading doctor take out the kidney from their bodies.
The SP further said police raided different places for the arrest of the doctor and other members of the gang.
