New York: As Samsung unveiled its third generation phablet Samsung Galaxy Note 3, another image of Windows Phone giant Nokia’s upcoming phablet have leaked.
The image of the Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet has leaked again and rumors suggest that the handset will head to AT&T and will be known as the Beastie.
As we have seen in past the company’s first top-end smartphone Nokia Lumia 920 was released exclusively to AT&T and recently Nokia’s flagship device which is still dominating Nokia Lumia 1020 it is also available only via AT&T in the U.S. So it should not come as surprise if the Lumia 1520 will head only to AT&T.
“Nokia Lumia 1520 ‘Bandit’ known at AT&T as ‘Beastie'” tweeted @evleaks.
Now a recent tweet from @tomwarren seems to bolster claims that the Lumia 1520 is heading to AT&T and the device will be called Beastie.
“This is the Lumia 1520 (codenamed Beastie) on AT&T. See if you notice anything different from other pics,” tweets @tomwarren. The tweet is accompanied by a leaked image of the rear of the Lumia 1520. The image also shows that the bottom of the handset has three pins, probably for wireless charging.
However, none of the previous images showed these three pins on the rear of the handset. The image also looks quite blurry, but as we don’t know what exactly the upcoming Lumia 1520 will look like, it’s difficult to determine which image is real and which one is fake.
The competition in the phablet arena is increasing, with many smartphone makers launching bigger-sized smartphones. The Nokia Lumia 1520 is expected to pack in top-end features to compete with other Android phablets such as the recently-launched Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Sony Xperia Z Ultra and the upcoming HTC One Max.
Nokia has not confirmed its plans to launch the Lumia 1520 but phablet lovers will be eagerly waiting to get their hands on the first Windows 8 powered 6-inch smartphone.
