ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has taken notice of slumping peace situation of the metropolitan city of Pakistan and called special meeting including federal cabinet members and all stakeholders of Karachi.
Besides discussing and approving various issues pertaining national reforms during the federal cabinet meeting, PM Nawaz Sharif put special attention towards declining law and order situation in Karachi.
Sharif said that establishment and maintaining of peaceful environment in Karachi, the economic hub of Pakistan, has have significant importance overall on the country.
Responding over the situation immediately, the PM summoned all stakeholders including Director General Inter-Services Intelligenc (DG ISI)‚ DG Intelligence Bureau (IB)‚ Director General (DG) Rangers and Inspector General (IG) Police Sindh in a meeting.
According to the PM’s order, Pakistan’s federal cabinet meeting will discuss law, order situation in Karachi while strategic policies would be finalised for restoring peace.
The cabinet approved special department, reportedly named as Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan, for implementation of peace throughout the country as well as formed committee for amendments in Services Tribunal Act-1973.
It is pertinent to note, beside the political and public uprise over the issue, miscreants continued their activities against citizens by killing six citizens while injuring 3 persons in Karachi since Wednesday’s night.
Currently the metropolitan city is facing gruesome disturbances due to target killings and life threats on its citizens while almost 150 different applications and petitions have been filed which may also be available for hearing.
