Following the DCC meeting on Thursday, breaking news on different news channels was aired quoting sources that the DCC
Information Minister and government spokesman Pervez Rashid has categorically said that the government has set no pre-condition for holding a dialogue with extremists, including the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
āThe dialogue offer announced by the prime minister had no pre-conditions attached and it remains so even todayā .
Mr. Rashid said that the government did not want to narrow down its options with regard to its dialogue offer made to check terrorism through peaceful means. He added that the government sincerely wanted to bring peace but such an irresponsible role of the media made things complicated.
āThe DCC did not discuss any conditions for dialogue,ā he said, adding that the governmentās dialogue offer to the TTP was open-ended and was seriously meant to resolve the matter through peaceful means.
Soon after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in his recent televised speech to the nation made the dialogue offer to the extremists, certain elements in the Pakistani media and politics started spreading such unfounded reports that are bound to sabotage the governmentās keenness to resolve the issue of terrorism through peaceful means.
According to TheNewsTribe’s correspondent from capital city Islamabad “No such thing was included in the press release officially issued about the DCC meeting by the government”.
