Islamabad: Rawalpindi’s Anti-Terrorist Court on Tuesday charged former President and ex-Army Chief Parvez Musharraf.
In response, the spokesperson of APML founder General Retired Rashid Qureshi in a TV show defended Parvez Musharraf and said that since the last five years the drama of this case is on-going.
He said there is no reason why this case has been charge sheeted against Parvez Musharraf. He added that the ex. Army chief has to suffer a lot due to this case. Everyone knows that it was Asif Ali Zardari who stopped the post-mortem of former Prime Minister of Pakistan.
He inquired, “Why would Musharraf kill Benazir Bhutto as the deal had already taken in Abu Dhabi”. He said, “In an email to Mark Siegel, BB expressed that she might get killed and she named D.I.G Brigadier Ijaz Shah, Hamid Gul, Parvez Elahi and Parvez Musharraf. Everyone else has been left out except the former President and ex. Army Chief. What kind of justice is this, it doesn’t even happen in Britain”!
“Benazir was killed by Baitullah Mehsud but I can’t say about the verdict given by the court” he further said.
In response Justice retired stated, “Benazir’s murder is no ordinary murder case. She was killed because she wanted to become Prime Minister for the third time”.
He also said, “PPP in its five year tenure did absolutely nothing about the case, the ball is now in the court of the reigning government”.
He said that proof must be provided in the court and it’s up to them what the outcome of the case is.
