SKARDU: Pakistan Army’s Captain Sarfaraz has been killed and soldier Yasin was injured in an incident of fire exchange on Skardu sector between Indian and Pakistani troops occurred on Tuesday.
Line of Control (LoC) tensions is constantly heightening between neighbouring countries, India and Pakistan, due to continuous fire exchange between military personnel.
Pakistan military sources claimed that its military official Captain Sarfaraz was killed and soldier Yasin injured by unprovoked firing by Indian Army on Shakna or Chakna sector located on Skardu town of Baltistan’s mountainous region.
According to the military sources, Indian troops’ firing continued till 2:15am on Tuesday’s night.
It is pertinent to note, Baltistan borders Gilgit Agency in the west, the Xinjiang Autonomous Region of China in the north, Ladakh in the east, and the Kashmir Valley in the south.
The region is divided by the Line of Control (LoC) with four of its five disctricts since 1947 including Skardu, Gangche, Shigar and Kharmang which is being controlled by Pakistan and the Kargil district being part of Indian-administered Kashmir.
