ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has banned usage of mobile phone in polling stations during by-election event going to be held on August 22.
According to ECP officials, the section 144 will be imposed around the polling station and no one would be allowed to take the mobile inside.
By-polls are going to be held on Aug 22 for which high security arrangements have already been approved.
Earlier, ECP approved deployment of Pakistan Army personnel inside and outside the sensitive polling stations during the electoral event of Pakistan.
Moreover, ECP issued final list of candidates in Lahore, the capital city of Punjab’s province, on Tuesday (today) and released list of polling station.
By-election will be held in 4 constituencies of Lahore while ECP shortlisted 123 candidates contesting while the total number of votes overall in the constituencies is 7,86,601.
ECP established 638 polling station in the electorates including 111 sensitive polling stations.
