Berlin: South Korean technological giant Samsung switch directly to latest Android 4.3 OS for Samsung Galaxy S3 skipping Android Jelly bean 4.2.2.
It is the one of the most popular device that Samsung have ever produced. The international variant of the Galaxy S3 is set to benefit from the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update and the information was confirmed by German carrier Deutsche Telekom via the official Telekom forum.
“The international version of the Samsung Galaxy S III sold by German carrier Deutsche Telekom, will be skipping Android 4.2.2 and proceeding straight to Android
4.3. This has been rumored for some time, but was confirmed on Wednesday by the mobile operator. The confirmation came in an exchange of messages on the official Telekom forum. The model number of the phone involved is GT-i9300, but there is a strong belief that Samsung will jump straight to Android 4.3 for Samsung Galaxy S III units in all market,” reports Phone Arena.
Earlier in July, we reported that owners of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 could see their handsets leapfrog to Android 4.3 and bypass Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
Both the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 currently run Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and it would make sense for Samsung to push out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean directly, as it is the latest version.
While the confirmation from the Deutsche Telekom representative is only for the carrier’s variant, there is a good chancec that Samsung will update the Galaxy S3 directly to Android 4.3 for all markets.
It is not yet known, however, when users will start receiving the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for their Galaxy S3, but following this announcement Deutsche Telekom should start pushing out the update sooner rather than later.
