ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday approved increase in electricity prices for commercial consumers.
The PM approved the summery sent by the Ministry of Water and Power and it will be applicable from August 1.
Electricity prices have been upgraded for the consumers of commercial, industrial and housing societies, said the notification.
The ministry has increased the power tariff by Rs Rs2 to Rs6.16 for commercial consumers, Rs3 to Rs6.57 for industrial consumers and Rs5.82 for housing societies consumers.
Moreover, a surcharge of 90 paisas will also imposed on industrial consumers.
