QUETTA: Pakistan has been continuously in the grasp of activists of terrorism. Especially Balochistan is regularly haunted with terrorism almost regularly.
Despite technological advancement, the police are still in favour of conventional approaches.
According to experts, the inability to implement CCTV cameras has led to the rise in terrorism activities, abduction, bomb blasts and target killing. The security personnel have not handled the matters of security, the way they should have.
Complete lacking in security by the police, endanger the lives of many. There is an urgent need of installation of CCTV cameras to curb the threat of terrorism.
In order to control the situation, 529 CCTV cameras were ordered to be installed, but thus far there hasn’t been any progress so far.
According to some sources more or less 38 cameras are managing the whole city out of which many have turned worthless.
This is seen as an advantage by the terrorists and target killers as it helps them to escape with ease. According to Zubair Mehmood, CCPO Quetta, “529 security cameras will be installed soon”.
Chief Secretary Baluchistan also expressed his opinion in favour of this project that is yet to begin. For this purpose funds have also been setup and are in process.
Two years ago Kharotabad judicial tribunal also ordered for installation of security cameras in entrance and exit gates of the city.
This way it can be helpful to curb down effects of terrorist activities. Everyone is in favour of use of technology, but it hasn’t been implemented thus far.
