LAHORE: Hearing prolonged ban on world’s largest video portal YouTube, Lahore High Court has sought information that how credible is informative and educational material on the site.
Hearing the case against ban on YouTube over blasphemous content, the court has summoned Federal Information Technology Minister and IT Secretary on August 2 to relate the details.

Earlier, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) officials told the court that the portal was banned due to controversial content. The country doesn’t have the technology to block sub-domain of the site compelling the authorities to ban the main site, they further said.
