ISLAMABAD: Announcement for most-awaited National Power Policy designed for the elimination of severe energy crisis in Pakistan has been delayed by Council of Common Interest (CCI) on Tuesday.
National Power Policy, a draft been made to be implemented for the elimination of energy crisis across Pakistan, was expected to be announced today after being presented before participants.
However, PM Sharif directed to finalise National Power Policy after consultation and considering the recommendations of each provinces as some provinces have reservations on some points.
Provincial chief secretaries has been ordered by the CCI chairperson to visit their provinces to collect the suggestions and recommendations under which the national policy will be formulated.
A committee has been constituted consisting of members from all provinces who will submit their report in a week after thorough inspection of the policy in the light of constitution.
PM Nawaz Sharif was chairing the crucial meeting while all chief ministers of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces and other members of the council also attended.
Council of Common Interests (CCI) had organised its first meeting in Islamabad today to formalise new energy policy as well as recently agreed bailout loan package‚ with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
