KABUL: Pakistan’s Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz declared on behalf of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that Pakistan will not interfere in internal affairs of Afghanistan and it will not support any particular sides.
PM’ advisor on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz declaration was quoted from his joint press conference with Afghan Foreign Minister Zalmai Rassoul in Kabul during his official one-day visit to Afghanistan.
While address the press conference, Sartaj Aziz said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made policy statement for the neighbouring country that Pakistan will not interfere in the internal affairs of Afghanistan and we support no particular sides but the government.
Aziz added that Pakistan would also reinforce regional efforts in support of the reconciliation process and persuade all regional countries to adopt the same policy of non-interference and non-choosing any particular group.
The advisor urged to improve Pakistan-Afghanistan relationship because that demands our shared objectives of peace‚ stability and prosperity can only be promoted if we have closer economic and trade ties.
During the visit, Aziz delivered the message sent by PM Sharif that Afghanistan peace and stability is in interest of Pakistan and maximum support will be provided for efforts for implementation of law and order and reconciliation process.
Moreover, Sartaj Aziz invited Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai to visit Pakistan for enrichment of bilateral interest and friendship ties between neighbouring countries.
