ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has left for his first official visit to China on Wednesday to strengthen partnership as well as expansion of economic and trade ties.
PM Sharif will hold high level talks with top leadership during his 5-day visit for strengthening broad-based cooperative relationship with China.
Nawaz Sharif is accompanied by an eleven member high level delegation including Chief Minister Balochistan and federal ministers while some members including Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif also left for Beijing to join him in the five-day visit.
Chinese high-level delegation will welcome Nawaz Sharif on his first official visit after taking charge as Prime Minister of Pakistan.
According to sources, PM Nawaz Sharif will be successful to gain China’s support in the department of civil nuclear technology to overcome energy crisis in Pakistan.
Regional situations, Afghanistan and major security will be part of discussion during PM’s meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang.
Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) will be signed on the upcoming event to increase cooperation in various fields including energy sector.
On the visit, the PM will focus to expand economic and trade cooperation and finalise a trade passageway between the countries including rail and road link from Gwadar to Kashghar will be finalised.
PM will concretise the proposals and initiatives which were finalised earlier by the Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal-led task force on a previous visit to China.
Moreover, PM Sharif will also visit important industrial centers, Special Economic Zones as well as meet the leaders of cooperate and financial sectors.
