KARACHI: Search operation has been conducted in Central Jail of Karachi by security forces on Saturday, recovered suspected mobile phone used in attack on Sindh High Court’s Justice Maqbool Baqar.
Heavy contingents of security forces including Rangers and Police have surrounded the Central Jail of Karachi at 7:00am and commenced search operation of prisoners’ barracks.
According to TNT representative, security forces have recovered large quantity of weapons, more than a dozen of laptops, drugs and mobile phones from the prisoners’ barracks.
During the search operation, suspected mobile phone has been recovered, which was used in planning the attack on SHC Judge Maqbool Baqar’s convoy on June 26.
According to sources, the operation has been initiated after intelligence reports that more than 65 captured activists from banned outfits transfer information through different mediums while they are facilitated by laptops and mobile phones within the premises of jail.
Rangers took some suspects in a separate cell where they faced interrogation process over Justice Baqar and Mehran Base attack while two of the suspects are from barrack 25.
TNT representative also said that at least 200 Rangers officials took part in the search operation.
