ISLAMABAD: Following assuming his charge as next prime minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif has received warm congratulatory note from United States, termed as foe by some and ally by some for the nuclear state.
“The United States looks forward to working with the new Prime Minister and his democratically elected Govt,” a spokesperson of the US State Department said.
He congratulated Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on assuming the office for the unprecedented third term.
“The historic‚ largely peaceful‚ and transparent transfer of civilian power in Pakistan is a significant milestone in the country’s democratic progress,” he further said.
