ISLAMABAD: First-ever national policy for overseas Pakistanis has been approved by Caretaker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso in order to control foreign investments through legal routes of communication.
The national policy is designed to protect the investors’ transactions and to ease the foreign investments especially for overseas Pakistanis who are willing to put money in different businesses in the country.
The approval was finalised after the meeting between PM Mir Hazar Khan Khoso and Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel in Islamabad on May 29 (today).
During the briefing, Kakakhel introduced the prominent characteristics of the policy emphasizing the Pakistani nationals residing in overseas countries.
The national policy also aimed to encourage remittances and investment to expand duty credit to other household items through banking channels.
Moreover, social and welfare facilities for the overseas Pakistanis can be eased by the newly-announced national policy.
Many others facilities included lawful assistance for Pakistani families, hospitals, mobile medical units, opening of Pakistanis schools in different cities abroad on need basis, establishment of overseas university in Islamabad and allocation of a specific sector or percentage in government residential schemes.
