DELHI: Pepsi Indian Premier League (IPL) 6 moves into qualifier stage as Mumbai Indians will take on former two times champion Chennai Super Kings played at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on Tuesday.
Both teams have played 16 matches respectively in Pepsi IPL 6 and got 22 points but Chennai Super King still dominates at the top of the table with better run rate.
Chennai is considered favorite as they have made it to this stage in every season of IPL so far and have the experience of playing high stake matches.
In their matches at Delhi earlier this season, Super Kings defeated hosts Delhi Daredevils by a big margin of 86 runs. On the other hand Mumbai lost to Daredevils by 9 wickets despite posting 161 on the board.
As far as the teams are concerned, Chennai have an edge in batting due to the brilliant form of Mr. Cricket Michael Hussey the leading run scorer of Chennai and 2nd highest scorer of this year’s IPL with in form Suresh Raina and their skipper Mahindra Sing Dhoni who has the capability to change the game at any stage.
On the other hand Mumbai Indians have the most experienced batsman in shape of Sachin Tendulker with in form skipper Rohit Sharma, all-rounder Kieron Pollard and wicket keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik have the ability to chase the big totals.
The bowling of both the teams is pretty much equal. The history of this ground says that the spinners play a vital role.
The previous meetings show us that in this year’s IPL Mumbai Indian emerge victorious over Chennai Super Kings on both the occasion. Now this is the different stage that who will emerge victorious this time.
