CALIFORNIA: Online streaming service Twitch TV has launched itself on Xbox 360 as a dashboard app, now approved for debut in the US and allowing Xbox Live Gold subscribers to watch live gaming sessions from its top 300 live broadcasting channels.
Twitch, an offshoot of Justin TV, had seen fellow streaming site UStream given prominent placing at the PlayStation 4 announcement in February, as Sony seeks to empower PS4 owners with instant access to an online audience.
Now it seems increasingly likely that Twitch and Microsoft have been exploring a similar sort of arrangement — Twitch is set to host an exclusive broadcast following Microsoft’s next Xbox announcement, from 12pm on on May 21, via both the app and Twitch TV website.
