ISLAMABAD: Expressing concerns over the deteriorating security situation in the country, the Chief Election Commissioner has asked the CoAS to depute personnel at the ‘most sensitive polling stations’.
In a letter to General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, Fakhruddin G. Ibrahim asked the army chief to ‘try’ deploying the personnel at the aforementioned stations.
He called upon the election commission and army to ensure that unbiased, fair and transparent elections take place in the country on May 11.

Meanwhile, the EC said printing of ballot papers has been completed and these will be provided across the country by tomorrow (Friday).

It also said that about 22,000 security personnel have been deployed in the provincial capital of Peshawar ahead of general elections.
