LAHORE: All stakeholders must join hands to ensure organization of elections on the desired date, for which security arrangements are being made on war footing.
Providing conducive and peaceful environment for general elections is the top priority of Pakistan Army and other personnel at the moment.
This was stated by the Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani while addressing a meeting of the core commanders at the military headquarters, here on Wednesday.
Apprising the media about the meeting, DG ISPR, Major Gen Asim Saleem Bajwah said three lac (0.3 million) personnel will be deputed in Punjab. These will comprise of 268,000 police and Rangers and 32,000 army personnel, he added.
