ISLAMABAD: Stern action will be taken against those developing fake ballot papers to fulfill their designs to undermine the election process.
This was stated by secretary Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Ishtiaq Ahmed while expressing his views on the alleged theft of 90,000 ballot papers.
Ishtiaq said the process of preparation and conveyance of the papers is being conducted strictly under the supervision of Pakistan Army and no such practice would take place.
He said that there’s no chance of theft of the ballot papers, adding all decisions at the commission are being taken with consensus.
Yesterday, there were reports of recovery of ballot papers from Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, allegedly from the office of a political party, which vehemently rejected the same.
The ECP had said that it is investigating the incident and will soon reveal any details it receives in this regard.
