ISLAMABAD: Nadra is all set to facilitate the overseas Pakistanis in their right to vote in the general elections.
This was stated by the officers of the authority while submitting their stance at the Supreme Court of Pakistan, here on Friday.
However, astonishingly, the Election Commission of Pakistan is still reluctant to give the nationals the right, saying the process would require due legislation.
The database organization apprised the apex court that seven countries have given consent to facilitate their Pakistani citizens. These are Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and London.
Sources said that should the OPs get the right, a historic voter turnout would emerge, which would also lay effects on the future government in the country.
