ISLAMABAD: An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale shook most parts of the country, here on Wednesday.
The intensity of the tremors, which began at 2:28pm (local time), was felt even in the New Delhi, spreading panic among the dwellers of the area.
People residing in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Murree, Charsadda, Swat, Malakand, Chitral, Batgram and Waziristan came out of their houses and offices in panic after the calamity.
Luckily, no loss to life or property was reported in any part of the country, though repercussions are expected to be felt as a result of the geographical change.
According to experts, the center of the quake was southeast of Afghanistan, while its depth was recorded 70 kilometers.
