ISLAMABAD: “There should not be any no go area in the city of Karachi, while an inflexible approach should be adopted by the law enforcement agencies against criminals.”
This was stated by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry while conducting proceedings in Karachi law and order case at the apex court, here on Tuesday (today).
The CJP observed that police had admitted that no ‘political hand’ is protecting the criminal elements, adding now it seems that ‘someone else is doing the job’.
Earlier, counsel of the government of Sindh, Shah Khawar Advocate admitted presence of no go areas in the jurisdiction of seven of 106 sensitive police stations.
Naming them, he said these are PIB, Sacha, Sohrab Goth, Kala Kot, Malir, Chakiwara, Pirabad, Mangophir police stations.
