KARACHI: The Election Tribunal on Monday rejected to appeal of former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf against rejection of his nomination papers for NA-250.
The Sindh High Court’s Election Tribunal hearing the appeal upheld the verdict of Returning Officer and declared that the former dictator could not run election for NA-250.
Musharraf launched his own party, All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), in 2010 and returned to Pakistan in March after ending his self-imposed exile to take part in the election.
He is currently facing series of cases including former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti murder cases and judges sacking and house arrest cases.
