CHAKWAL: The Election Tribunal, hearing appeal of Ayaz Amir against the rejection of his nomination papers, allowed the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader to contest election for NA-60.
A Returning Officer had rejected the nomination papers of Amir for NA-60.
Hearing the appeal filed by Amir, the tribunal rejected the objection raised by the RO and allowed the PML-N leader to contest the election scheduled to be held on May 11.
While talking to media after the tribunal’s decision, Amir, who was elected as MNA in 2008 over the PML-N ticket, said that his case was different from the others, adding that he had just given his personal view in his column.
He said that he would try to raise his voice against few clauses of the Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution after winning the election.
Salman Akram Raja, the counsel of Amir, said that few amendments were needed in the articles.
